National Association of Realtors RPAC endorses Dewhurst for U.S. Senate

U.S. Senate candidate David Dewhurst announced support from RPAC, the political arm of the National Association of Realtors, following a unanimous recommendation and endorsement from the Texas Association of Realtors executive board. In a statement, Texas Association of Realtors Chairman Dwight Hale cited David’s work as Lieutenant Governor of Texas as well as his plans for America as a United States Senator as reasons for their support.  The NAR represents over one million Realtors across the country.

"During his time as Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst took the lead on legislation supporting realtors and the housing industry, including recent successes such as protecting homeowners from hidden transaction fees and increasing the protection of private-property rights in cases of eminent domain and foreclosures. It is a credit to his leadership that the Texas housing market has remained one of the strongest in the country,” said Hale.

“As a United States Senator, I have every confidence Lt. Gov. Dewhurst would continue to stand up for homeowners and realtors and ensure our voice is heard,” continued Hale. “His plans to grow the economy and bring Texas ideas and values to the rest of the country would also help the housing market bounce back even stronger than before. We need experienced businessmen like him in the U.S. Senate!”

“I am proud and grateful to have the support of such a large and influential national organization,” said David Dewhurst. “The National Association of Realtors represents one of the hardest hit industries by the failed policies of the last three years. As a United States Senator, I look forward to working with them not only to support realtors but all Americans by strengthening the housing industry and getting our economy turned around.”

The National Association of Realtors was founded in 1908 and is the largest trade association in the United States with over 1.2 million members, 54 State Associations (including Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands) and more than 1,400 local Associations.
