In Texas, state government has lived within its means under David Dewhurst’s leadership. A balanced budget every legislative session has helped make Texas the most business-friendly climate where jobs have grown faster than any other state—by far!

This year, Americans are unfortunate enough to learn that President Obama has gravely miscalculated the severity of his destructive spending spree. The Weekly Standard notes that the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office discovered that Obama may have underestimated his yearly deficit by close to half a trillion dollars.

Values of my father -- Michael Reagan

Over thirty years ago, my father put Washington insiders on defense and completely transformed DC’s business-as-usual mindset with a conservative revolution. He stood strong for pro-growth, pro-life, and pro-family principles that helped us rediscover American Exceptionalism and economic prosperity.

In 2012, Texans have the opportunity to send a Reagan Republican with these same principles to Washington at a time when our future and our values are in peril. That’s why I’m endorsing David Dewhurst for Senate.

Today, the Texas Retailers Association Political Action Committee (TRAPAC) announced their endorsement of David Dewhurst for United States Senate. In the announcement, Stephanie Gibson, Vice President of Government Affairs, said David is a leader we need in Washington.

“Since 2003, David Dewhurst has been a strong example of conservative leadership while serving as Lt. Governor of Texas,” Gibson said. “As a Texas businessman, he understands the importance of supporting fiscally conservative policies which bolster the economy, allowing business to grow and create more jobs. He cut $14 billion in state spending from the current budget and passed a tax cut for 40,000 small business owners, all while safeguarding $6 billion dollars for our state's Rainy Day Fund. This is the kind of proven conservative leadership we need in Washington.”

National Association of Realtors RPAC endorses Dewhurst for U.S. Senate

U.S. Senate candidate David Dewhurst announced support from RPAC, the political arm of the National Association of Realtors, following a unanimous recommendation and endorsement from the Texas Association of Realtors executive board. In a statement, Texas Association of Realtors Chairman Dwight Hale cited David’s work as Lieutenant Governor of Texas as well as his plans for America as a United States Senator as reasons for their support.  The NAR represents over one million Realtors across the country.

"During his time as Lieutenant Governor, David Dewhurst took the lead on legislation supporting realtors and the housing industry, including recent successes such as protecting homeowners from hidden transaction fees and increasing the protection of private-property rights in cases of eminent domain and foreclosures. It is a credit to his leadership that the Texas housing market has remained one of the strongest in the country,” said Hale.

“As a United States Senator, I have every confidence Lt. Gov. Dewhurst would continue to stand up for homeowners and realtors and ensure our voice is heard,” continued Hale. “His plans to grow the economy and bring Texas ideas and values to the rest of the country would also help the housing market bounce back even stronger than before. We need experienced businessmen like him in the U.S. Senate!”
