Texas Association of Builders HOMEPAC endorses Dewhurst for U.S. Senate
Today, HOMEPAC, the political arm of the Texas Association of Builders' (TAB), announced their support of David Dewhurst for United States Senate. In the endorsement, HOMEPAC Chairman Terry Weaver said David has “proven pro-business values” and works to promote the American Dream.
“As chairman of the HOMEPAC Trustees and member of the Texas Association of Builders, I am proud to announce our endorsement of Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst in his election for U.S. Senate,” Weaver said. “Governor Dewhurst has demonstrated his proven pro-business values and works alongside the Texas Association of Builders to promote the American dream of homeownership. We know he will carry this passion for Texas housing to the U.S. Capitol.”
“I am proud to have the support of such an important organization to Texas and our economy,” David Dewhurst said. “While the housing market has gone through a difficult time, the Texas Association of Builders has remained vigilant and strong, continuing their efforts to make Texas one of the best places in the country to build a home.”
TAB is an affiliate of the National Association of Home Builders and has 30 local home builders associations across Texas. It was founded in 1946, and today has a membership of nearly 10,000 home builders representing 315,000 jobs and $21 billion of the Texas economy. The Texas Association of Builders plays a crucial role in providing housing for Texans.
This endorsement follows other major endorsements, including RPAC, the political arm of the National Association of Realtors, the Texas Retailers Association PAC, and the Texas Wildlife Association last week.
Former Governor Mike Huckabee and conservative activist Michael Reagan have also endorsed David recently. David has also been endorsed by the Texas Restaurant Association, TEXPAC and the Texas Oil and Gas PAC.
David received support from three former presidents of the Texas Farm Bureau, BEEF-PAC, the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Political Action Committee and the Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund.
David has also received endorsements from the Texas State Association of Fire Fighters, the Texas State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Combined Law Enforcement Associations of Texas, the Texas Municipal Police Association and the Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association PAC, the Texas Right To Life PAC, pro-life leaders Kyleen Wright and Carol Everett, and the Texas Alliance for Life.
