Statement on the Republican Primary Election

David released a statement last night on the results of yesterday's Republican Primary Election:

“I’m profoundly grateful for the enthusiastic support of Texas Republicans for my re-election as Lt. Governor.  As we can see from the results tonight, 2010 promises to be a tremendous year for Republicans across the state.

“Republicans have gained momentum because we have an unbeatable message.  Whether it’s creating jobs, balancing the budget, improving health care or enhancing education, I believe the commonsense, conservative solutions we have put forward will continue to resonate with Texas voters.

“I would also like to extend my congratulations to my good friend, Governor Rick Perry, on his victory this evening. I’m looking forward to working alongside Governor Perry again, building on all that we’ve accomplished, and continuing to keep Texas moving forward.”

I think the fact that nobody challenged you in the primary is evidence of the great job you’re doing. I know you’ll win in November too.

I was disappointed in many of the results, but I think we can all back behind Rick against Bill White.

I voted for David Dewhurst again because again I see that he would make a great CEO for Texas if anything happened to our current CEO, J.R. Perry.
